futureMEMORY is an international company comprised of theatre artists from the Netherlands, Canada, Great Britain and Australia.  Our name comes from our exploration of three time periods: historical and classical narratives, present social issues and technologies and styles unknown to the British theatre market. Our work is based on collaborative theatre where actors, directors and others devise together to move towards a performance that is organic and alive. fM revels in smashing together flesh and architecture, skin and light, beauty and carnage.

futureMEMORY was formed by graduates of The Central School of Speech and Drama, training on the same course that created SHUNT.

GIRL IN BOX

Girl in Box is the story of Nina and Alan, who live in an isolated town in Northern England. When new tenants arrive, the tensions of their claustrophobic, violent world are revealed and Nina is driven to a horrifying, tragic act. Dark, sexy and visually stunning, Girl in Box combines naturalism with physical theatre and new technology.

Girl in Box is the real world, exploded. The first production drew comparisons to the work of David Lynch. The story contains elements of Greek tragedies such as Medea and The Bacchae and the work of transgressive authors like Dennis Cooper and Kathy Acker and filmmakers such as Takashi Miike.
